Overview

To advise the Lord Chancellor on matters relating to records and archives in the UK and in particular in England and Wales especially access to historical records and the preservation of records and manuscripts.

Established 2003. The Advisory Council on National Records and Archives' costs are budgeted through The National Archives. 1 secretariat is employed by The National Archives and is a shared resource with the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information.
