Alexander Morrison "Alistair" Carmichael PC (born 15 July 1965) is a Liberal Democrat politician and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Scottish seat of Orkney and Shetland since the 2001 general election.

He is the Deputy Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and, since 7 October 2013, the Secretary of State for Scotland in the UK coalition government.
